If you’re a CrossFit athlete, you’re no stranger to hard work. You grind through AMRAPs, EMOMs, and metcons. But what happens when a little pain starts creeping in—and instead of getting better, it lingers? Shoulder pinching during snatches, knee pain on squats, or a cranky back after deadlifts?
You shouldn’t have to keep modifying forever.
At Off The Block Performance Physical Therapy, we work with CrossFitters in Easley, Liberty, and surrounding areas who want to stay in the gym and keep training hard—without injury holding them back.
Pain Isn’t Just Part of the Sport
There’s a big difference between being sore and being hurt. That nagging elbow twinge or hip stiffness after cleans? It’s not just “part of it.”
Pain is your body’s signal that something in your movement pattern, mobility, or strength balance is off. Ignoring it usually leads to compensation, plateaus, or worse—time away from the gym.
Client Story: Helping Jordan from Liberty Train Pain-Free Again
Jordan, a 33-year-old CrossFitter from Liberty, came to our Easley clinic after dealing with nagging lower back pain that flared up every time he deadlifted or did kipping pull-ups. He had started scaling his workouts and skipping anything from the floor.
When we assessed him, we found:
- Limited hip mobility and poor hip hinge mechanics
- Weak glutes and overuse of his low back during lifts
- A lack of midline control under fatigue
- Poor spinal position during high-rep gymnastic movements
We worked with Jordan over 5 sessions to rebuild his movement from the ground up:
✅ Improved hip mobility and deadlift form
✅ Strengthened his posterior chain and deep core
✅ Re-trained his breathing and bracing strategy under load
✅ Slowly reintegrated high-skill gymnastics work without flaring up symptoms
Now he’s PRing his deadlift, back to full programming, and moving with confidence—without pain.
